JN & Friends Comprehensive Beauty List: Project Eyes

Mascara

  • Maybelline Great Lash Mascara got several nods as being a great choice.
  • Cover Girl’s new “Lash Exact”, says Whiskeymarie, “rocks,” and several others agreed. Beth says it’s “revolutionary.”
  • Lancome Defincils Mascara got several nods and Jen says “all the hype is deserved,” and “once it dries it doesn’t clump or flake or smudge or anything; it stays put even through a good hard cry.” Most important, though, she says “it washes off fine with soap and water.” Note: this mascara has won the Allure Beauty Award, is in the Allure Beauty Award Hall of Fame and has also won the 2006 Glam.com Beauty Award. My God. I want this.
  • Prescriptives “False Eyelashes” mascara is, according to Melina, “the single best stuff out there.”
  • Neutrogena Full Volume Fortifying Mascara
  • Blinc “Kiss Me” Mascara. Thanks, Jamie!
  • Lancome Hypnose Mascara. Daisies and I both agree on this one.
  • Dior Show Mascara
  • Borjeouis Coup de Theatre Bronze Romanesque mascara.
  • Too Faced Lash Injection Mascara

  • Eye Liner (Liquid)

  • M.A.C. Fluidline
  • Lancome Le Crayon Kohl. Kateastrophe suggested it first, but in providing the link I found that it’s also another winner of the Allure Best of Beauty Award.

  • Eye Liner Pots (Eyeliner Brush is mandatory)

  • Bare Escentuals i.d. bareMinerals Liner Shadow – according to Julie, it “stays on for days.”
  • Too many people to keep track of agree: STILA SMUDGE POTS GEL EYELINER. A must-have. I’m blonde and fair skinned, but I can do either black or brown. You build it up, so you have total control over how it looks and how much goes on. Definitely a must-have. It’s agreed: you cannot NOT have this product.

    Eye Liner (Non-Liquid)

  • Sue Devitt Eye Intensifier Pencil. Borneochica says these are the “best eye pencils ever.”
  • M.A.C. Powerpoint Eye Pencil. Beth loves this in “Buried Treasure.”
  • Benefit Pencil Eyeliner, recommended by Jamie.
  • Elizabeth Arden Color Intrigue Liner, so says Paisley.

  • Eye Shadow

  • Overall, Stila gets the most votes for all-around best eye shadow.
  • Paula Dorf Eye Color Glimmer (Borneochica recommends “Gold Digger”)
  • Elizabeth Arden Color Intrigue Eye Shadow, says Paisley, is the best. Daisies agrees, too.
  • M.A.C. Eye Shadow in “Print,” says Meg, is the “best smoky eye starter.”
  • M.A.C. Eye Shadow in “Phloof,” says Meg, “lights up the corners of [her] eyes.”
  • Meg also recommends Bourgeois eye shadows.
  • Almay Personalized Eye Color Shadow

  • Eye Shadow Primer

  • Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion. Margot says, “it dabs on like cover up and your eye makeup will not smudge, smear or crease AT ALL.” She has self-described “greasy-ass skin,” too. ;) Jamie approves, too!

  • Eye/Under Eye Brightener

  • DHC’s “Eye Bright,” described by Painting Chef as “instantly shrink[ing] puffiness under [her] eyes.”
  • Smashbox Photo Op Under Eye Brightener. This stuff is amazing and I’m forever indebted.

  • Eye Care

  • Neutrogena Healthy Defense Daily Eye Cream, SPF 30
  • DHC Intensive Eye Care Cream. Another vote for DHC, recommended by Jamie!
  • Stila Petal Infusions Eye Makeup Dissolver “are little, individual wipes that make you feel so refreshed when you’re cleaning off your face,” says Ripe.

  • Brows

  • Anastasia Nu-Brow, a “nutrient gel that promotes hair growth…it actually works,” says Diamond Lil.
  • Stila Brow Polish Mascara Gel Sourcils. Nabbalicious says it’s for those with sparse eyebrows, and “it fills them in just enough.” $10!
  • Benefit Brow Zings. Page notes, “brow wax, brow shader, brushes and tweezers all in one kit – kick ass!”

  • Want to suggest something new or comment on something listed here? Have you tried something from this list and have some thoughts? Contact me and I’ll add it to the list!

NOTE: If you submitted something and I missed it or if a link is wrong, broken or otherwise inaccurate, please let me know. Also, if you would like to add to this list, e-mail me and I’ll put it on. Another note: I gave quotes and credit where I could, but I didn’t, nor could I have if I wanted to, list everyone and everything. If you would like to e-mail me your name, e-mail address, website or quote for why you recommended it, e-mail me. Be very specific which product you’re talking about. The easier you make it on me, the faster I can get you your due credit.

A note, and you’ll see this on each list. Thank you to everyone who contributed. I really mean that – we ladies have to look out for each other.

Having said that, I spent a lot of time compiling this list. A LOT. While I welcome and encourage the sharing of these lists with anyone you know who might be interested, know this: if I see any of these lists, in full or in part, WITHOUT CREDITING THIS SITE, me (i.e., my time), Jurgen Nation and/or www.jurgennation.com, I will find you and rip your fucking face off to the point where no amount of moisturizer or makeup could help you. That’s how much time I spent on these and I’m not kidding. I will be on the lookout. Be respectful and give some credit to me and my now numb ass. Beauty donations are also accepted. Contact info above, wishlist in sidebar.

    ;)

Seriously, thanks again! You all ROCK! Happy shopping!!
