Painting Chef enjoys Captain Morgan and ginger ale – tastes like a “cream soda”
Whiskeymarie’s Lemon Drop Martini w/ Splash of Amaretto: 2 parts Absolut Citron, 1 part lemoncello (or, in a pinch, add more vodka and a splash of lemonade), squeeze of fresh lemon juice, 1/2 part amaretto and finally, “float a slice of lemon in the lovely concoction.” These sound heavenly. A sugar rimmed glass would definitely top it off for a summertime classic.
Absolut Mandarin, soda water and an orange wedge. Diamond Lil says it’s “refreshing and intoxicating!”
Borneochica’s “Panty Ripper”: Just coconut rum and pineapple juice. Tropical island of Belize in your backyard.
JN’s Crystal Light Martini: just like it sounds. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice, add vodka (citrus is best, but it depends which flavor CL you’re using), Crystal Light, shake and pour. These are fantastic if you’re like me and don’t enjoy drinking your calories. They’re amazing, IMHO.
Also JN approved is vanilla vodka and Diet Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper. So, so good. You can also use Diet Coke (you’ll have to if you want diet cola and vanilla vodka when you’re out) or Diet Root Beer for a root beer float-type taste.
Melina’s Christmas Cookies: Diet Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper and Berry Stoli – “best thing on earth.” It sounds amazing and I can’t wait to try this. I never would have thought to pair the two, but I can’t wait to try!
Daisies’ “Slutty Smurf”: “a mouthful of Baja Rosa and a swig of Kahlua Mudslide and BAM ~ Neapolitan ice cream in your mouth.”
Shawnee recommends the Bellini – champagne, peach nectar. “This is what heaven tastes like,” she says.
Also recommended by Shawnee, if something stronger is in order, is her Bourbon Slush, which she references on her website. Go visit her because she’s cool. The recipe is here.

The Blue Fin:
1 ounce Absolut Citron or other lemon-infused vodka
2 ounces Hypnotiq Liqueur (available online at www.smokerisebottle.com)
1/2 ounce white-cranberry juice
Swedish fish candy for garnish
In a shaker, combine 1 ounce Absolut Citron, or other lemon-infused vodka, 2 ounces Hypnotiq Liqueur, 1/2 ounce white-cranberry juice. Shake well and strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with a Swedish Fish candy.
Don’t Call Me Ma’am likes Absolut Raspberry (or any berry flavored vodka), Diet Sierra Mist, OJ, Grenadine, Cranberry Juice. Sounds heavenly.
